Hi Rob,
Tonight I tried again to find the right setting for my snare, and when I thought I had found it I wanted to make it as an user new preset by pressing the save button (at that time if I'm not mistaken, its on auto save mode), I was finally able to make it a new preset by pressing the new preset button tho.
Then I wanted to open the preset in my laptop (previously on a PC), I tried moving ED8 to the laptop, but my new preset didn't appear in the user presets... then I tried exporting the presets and copy-pasting them to my laptop... By dragging it to ED Control on the laptop, I managed to open my new preset on the laptop... but there was something strange... my input changed to Yamaha 3 zone cymbal which was previously Mesh Center piezo, and when I tried to correct the input suddenly all the preset settings changed ex. Gain, tresh value, etc.(maybe they were already wrong at first place, I didn't pay much attention, other than the input type that obviously looked wrong). ....
I tried to find out the cause... turns out, what I exported was a duplicate preset (the original preset was still Mesh Center piezo and the settings were still stored safely on my PC, Alhamdulillah). I tried re-duplicating the original preset and the results of the duplicate preset still has error... Is there something wrong with what I did? Thanks for ur patience n care.
Odd Behaviour while duplicating user preset on ED8 & ED Control 2.3.0.8
Re: Odd Behaviour while duplicating user preset on ED8 & ED Control 2.3.0.8
I just tested here, and couldn't reproduce the issue. Please confirm these are the steps you took.
1. Save new preset.
2. Click the 'export to desktop' button.
3. Move the preset file from your desktop to the laptop.
4. Drag and Drop the preset file onto the Preset Manager on your laptop.
Update: I am seeing a issue with the 'duplicate preset' function, although you do not need that if you want to transfer the preset to your laptop.
Another Update: I fixed the issue with duplicating presets. It'll be included in the next release.
1. Save new preset.
2. Click the 'export to desktop' button.
3. Move the preset file from your desktop to the laptop.
4. Drag and Drop the preset file onto the Preset Manager on your laptop.
