The exclamation make means a firmware update is available. Click on the exclamation mark and then click update.

It's not related to calibrating. I'll take another look tomorrow. I can tweak the sensitivity.

Isn't that normal behavior for Yamaha pads?

im. not sure iits normal when hitting rim only then produce sound like rimshot(rim+part of center), i think it should be sound of the rim only tho how hard i hit it.. sound clicking like side stick?
I can do that with xp70 preset but its single zone pad and need helped with SD3 velocity gate trick... and for 3 zone xp80 i kind a expect it was default sound, without needing any SD3 tricks
Thanks.

Sounds like you need to use the rimshot control. Read about it on theanual. It's easy and very useful.

Then I think you should consider a dual piezo pad, because they work like you'd expect.

AFAIK, I've implemented the Yamaha system correctly (as per the drawing posted above, which you seem to completely ignore) and never had anyone tell me I did it wrong for the past several years.

If you don't like the way it sounds, then go the velocity gate route. Perhaps I'll implement a velocity gate in the future, but have no immediate plans to do so as I would need to make big changes to the UI to support it, and I'd prefer to focus on stability and performance at the moment.
