Hi All...
i have dtx720 with xp80 and xp70 pads.
Has anyone had success with positional sensing if connecting them with ED? i still waiting my ED8 btw...
Any informations are very appreciated thank you.
Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
Re: Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
I haven't designed the positional sensing to work with those pads, so I doubt it would work. I'd need to get one them in here for development.

Thanks for answering Rob..
Well..I think I still have to keep investing in the lemon T950 so I can get positional sensing work, right?

but if I'm not mistaken, the pads use center piezzo even though i knew they are not mesh heads?
Re: Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
I'm not sure. The pads that I have and used during development are listed in the manual.
There's also a thread with listings of pads and cymbals that others have used.

Hi Rob... i had check them already, sorry for late respond, had to deal with my stuffs first.
I just want to know.... when you were developing using the Yamaha TP-120SD, Did you also managed to trigger positional sensing correctly?
I hope you do because it might work with my XP80 too. #hoping. mode ON
Thanks again for ur enlighment Rob.

Re: Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
I tried to get positional sensing working with the TP-120SD, but I could only get it working with about 80% reliability, which isn't good enough. The pad wasn't designed for positional sensing, so no surprise there.
Re: Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
Oh, what a shame... but the source of the problem is the pad, right?
Thanks again Rob
Thanks again Rob
Re: Yamaha XP Pads (Silicon) Supported? Only TP Listed in Manual
Just to be clear, all Yamaha 3zone.pads will trigger 3 zones with an eDRUMin. You'll get center, sidestick, and rimshot. Positional sensing, where you get center, off-center, and edge is not supported in Yamaha snare pads.
I am aware that Yamaha has designed some of its pads to support positional sensing (xp125t-m for example). I suspect eDRUMin 's positional sensing work work fine with them, but I don't have any of those pads to test with.
