Edrumin 8 enough inputs?

Post by Bedroomrockstar89 »

Forgive me if this has already been covered but I’m new to discovering the edrumin interface. I’m thinking of getting the 8 when it’s back in stock but I want to make sure I can accomplish what I want by splitting certain inputs to dual mono. I just got the atv-exs 5sk which uses 11 cables total.

My plan for the edrumin 8 is:

Hi hat - pedal + input 1
Kick/Tom 1 - input 2 (split)
Tom2/tom3 - input 3 (split)
Crash 1/crash 2 - input 4 (split)
Snare - input 5
Ride - input 6

Requirements are:

- Positional sensing on the snare and/or 3 separate articulations (rimshot, sidestick and center)
- dual zone triggering on the Toms (center and rim only)
- crash muting
- 3 zone ride

Do I lose out on any of those by splitting pads into mono? Thanks for any help!

Cymbals connected with a splitter will not be able to be choked.

Ok good to know! So revised would look like:

Hi hat - pedal + input 1
Kick/Tom 1 - input 2 (split)
Tom2/tom3 - input 3 (split)
Crash 1 - input 4
Crash 2 - input 5
Snare - input 6
Ride - input 7

That all still work now?

Hey Rob, any updates as to when in September you expect the edrumin 8 to be back in stock?
