I built an A2E kit off of a cheap drumset and quartz percussion triggers with Laurin 2 ply mesh heads. Overall the kit is very playable, and I have split two crashes mono into one splitter on the edrumin4. So I have only one crash sound but two cymbals which is nice! Anyways on headphones Im using EZDrummer 3 standalone and it sounds incredible. I picked up a Roland PM100 used for a steal but the sound from it is noticeably not as good quality as the headphones. My laptop is a macbook air so its pretty light duty and im running the pm100 straight off the headphone jack. I was considering getting an audio interface as Im wondering if that would improve the sound on the PM100. I dont care about recording at this point- so is that worth spending 200 or so dollars on? If you guys think thats worth trying i was looking at focusrite 2i2 or UA volt 2. Anyways love to hear some thoughts on this.
