Here isy set up. Some obvious differences are the placement of our edge switches. Mine are right on the edge underneath the rubber. Also my now trigger is in that 3d printed box about 180 from my striking surface. I have a 26mm piezo and a 16th in thick piece of neoprene rubber glued to the bottom of the case that contacts the cymbal to absorb some vibrations.

Hi chris,

So your using geodrum edge membrane correct? Your bell is a piezo i suspect since you arer using Metal 3 zone type? Attached is my Myrk membrane. The center of the membrane is at the edge. then flares out a bit. Just fits naturally on the cymbal. I peeled of the sticky back foam, so you see some residue of the foam.

The piezo is 27mm in a 3D case i made. Pretty simple setup. All with disconnects.

what's really weird is the membranes are disconnected and I'm getting both bow and edge triggering

Hey Chris,

OMG... Its my gain setting. Raising the gain eliminates the edge triggering. So i gotta find the sweet spot. Another lesson learned buddy. That's a good thing to understand the module.

thankx for posting your setup. i'll keep you posted.

BTW, did you use Geodrum membrane for the 20"? Mryk doesn't sell 20". Adam sid the manufacturing for it would be like $800 so too expensive. Did you have good luck with the 20" geodrum. I got my Zildjian L80 20" did did for dual zone, but be great to get it 3 zone.

Nice. I'm glad it's working out for you. I am using the goedrum membrane's. It is the only 20in option and they are fantastic quality. I ended up ordering enough to convert the rest of my cymbals with them the last time I ordered. It makes the steep shipping more bearable. There in nothing wrong with myrk but the goedrum are higher quality. They are thicker and go 180 degrees. Myrk's are also consistently undersized as you mention the ends curl inward. My 8in does not fit my 8 in splash. Anyhow, glad it works! Happy e drumming.

hey thankx Chris for the update. I'll probably use Geodrum for the 20". I'l leave the bell piezo and bow in place as is And use the Metal 3 zone.

So did you use a piezo for the bell since you are using Metal 3 zone? Oh i see you are i the pic..

gotta decide how to manage the crashes. 1 eDrumin-4 is taken up with my drums. The other is for the cymbals. So 2 inputs for the ride, 1 for the hihat, only leave me with 1 input for the crashes. So dual zone for 1 crash... probably not... so splitting for 2 crashes single zone. don't really need to choke crashes. Also i have use an extra crash, a BT1, and I built a e-cowbell. So need another eDrumin-4 which ain't going to happen since Rob posted can't get mux chip anymore. Leave me with the eDrumin-10 if that gets shipped. Then i use the eDrumin-4 and the 10, and sell off the extra eDrumin-4.

decision...decisions...

thankx
