Hi, Rob,

Will the MIDI host via USB be available on ED8 to be able to combine (consolidate) 3 ED4s into one ED8, like it can be done with the ED10?

Looking forward to ED8 when it's born - thanks so much Rob.
...and I'd be remiss if I did not at least express a note of my undying gratitude for all the work you do Rob with your products, fixes and responsiveness. I'm a sort-of new 'quiet' ED4 x2 user that supplements my old Roland TDW-1 kit with these units (one MIDI connected to TD-10x brain, one direct to PC DAW) and I have to say, using expanded era cymbals/pads to connect to trigger and record into Ableton (triggering GGD) and other sounds has been a lifesaver. Spent a LOT of time tweaking settings and mix/match trials, but without fail, my trusty eDRUMin's have been a god-send. Cannot wait for next available batches...

Also a BIG shout to regulars on this site for your tips/advice and searchable insights - could never have figured all of this out without the eDRUMin products, support and community contributions (from an old 90's Vdrums era dinosaur).
And to Luke and others for great product reviews, providing loads of good info here and elsewhere, etc. Well done.

Happy drumming to all in the new year & keep up the great work.

I'll go back to quietly reading and stalking info now :)

TD10x kit, ED4(x2), CY-5 & CY-8, 3 Lemon cymbals, Motu M2 & UMC404HD, Ableton11(PC), GGD OKW (VST), Kari LP-6 monitors, Arturia midi keys...lotsa other stuff I don't need but don't tell my wife

Hi Rob,

RyanE is right! Thanks a lot for your work!

This must be really annoying for you to redesign the whole thing.

Ha, when I ordered my Millenium MPS-850 back in 2019 I also ordered
two MIDI DIN cables to go into my DIN MIDI ports of the M-Audio Fast Track Ultra.
Until then I never heard about USB MIDI. I used the USB MIDI connection of the module, of course.

Those DIN connectors are huge and you need 2 cables for in and out.
So am fine with your decision!
MIDI out, ok. For me as a VST drummer, I have no needs for connections between devices.
All USB MIDI inputs go through a USB HUB into the PC.
The FCB 1010 MIDI foot controller that only has DIN MIDI in and out, for that a grabbed a MIDI-to-USB interface for 17$.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Rob,

I always read Digital Drummer when it arrives. I've noticed several new snares that feature multiple sensors such as three in the center and more at the edges. I think the purpose is to even out the response and improve positional sensing. I'm curious if you've looked into accommodating such trigger arrays down the road. Or is that unnecessary with your advanced processing of a center sensor snare?

I look forward to buying a next generation eDRUMin :D

EDIT - just read in the 2.3 Beta that you're already addressing the above for the existing eDRUMin!

Hey Rob. How is the new baby coming along? Is there a due date?

It's coming along. It's going through EMC compliance testing at the moment. Assuming no problems in that department, should be available late August or early September.

Great. Is there anything new hardware wise coming? I'm planning to get it to replace my edrumin 4, latest version.

No, nothing new hardware wise. I managed to keep the device's footprint just slightly bigger than ED4, which is quite an achievement imho.

Hey Rob, is there a pre-order list for the ED8?
