If you have it setup according to that video, use a single input and set the pad type to 'acoustic trigger's and use the rimshot range control to get separation between the bow and bell.

I did what you suggested and that seemed to iron out most of the issues. The vibration trigger sensing was reduced alot and I was able to get good response of the bell shank hits. I had to map SS to the ride bow tip note, HIT to ride edge, and RS to ride shank.
With the bell sensor connected to the right input of the splitter, the ride bow tip and shank are separated enough where it's workable, but there is no ride edge trigger; which I'm okay with. I adjusted the Rimshot Range to narrow down the bell shank triggering and left X-stick and Rimshot scalers at a minimum.

If I connect the bell sensor to the left input of the dual zone splitter like in the Magnatrack video, it's worse and it still picks up alot of vibrations from the bow trigger.

Sorry, didn't understand what you meant by "bell sensor is attached to the ring connection of the 2nd input."

Hi Rob,

What's the quickest thing you can suggest to configure a low volume trigger on hihat with Magnatrack's Remedy Controller?

https://www.magnatrack.com/shop/electro ... oller-two/

I get bow trigger when the Hihat is closed but no open Hihat sound when opening it, it just keeps triggering the bow which is set to D#3 closed tip in SP3.

Sometimes if I'm playing the tip, after a few hits it will trigger the D0 note which is open sound when I have the Hihat pedal closed. If I hit the Hihat completely open, it still triggers just the D#3 closed tip sound, not the open sound.

I'm a bit lost as how to tackle this. Appreciate any tips. Thanks.

Please attach a screenshot of your pedal setting and hihat trigger setting and let me know what application you are using to trigger sounds in.

I'm using Superior Drummer 3. BOW D#3 is Hi-hat tip and EDGE G-2 is Hi-Hat Edge Trigger.

Thanks.

From looking at your screenshot, I can see you have some issues with your setup. I have some videos about settings up hihats. Have you checked those out?

Also, I see from the Magnatrack website that their controller is likely non-standard. You should probably disable pedal sensing and manually set the polarity to 'Roland', and then recalibrate.

I’ll check the videos out, thanks.

One connected Piezo should be able to trigger up to two sounds based on impact?

No, only one for a metal cymbal with a single piezo.

Hey Rob,

So I did ALOT of testing and trying different things and this is what seems to be the best results regarding the hi-hats setup:

I went with the Roland VH-13 preset in eDRUMIN10, but kept getting mistriggering on the bow and edge and just horrible artifacting in between.

As far as signal from the Magnatrack Piezo going into eDRUMIN10, everything looked good and responsive as far as I could tell.

So I poked around in Superior Drummer 3 and looked at the presets because it was set to default, I randomly picked TD-10. That made a huge difference and for the most part took care of all the garbage that was coming out of it and the articulations are almost perfect now. I need to fine tune it a little with a few tweaks but that simple setting change did alot of the heavy lifting to clear out all the noise.

I guess there are too many moving parts and something had to give somewhere. :D
