Android compatiblity

Post by djbclark »

Before I buy an eDrummin 4, just want to verify that the software is only needed for initial setup, not continuing use.

Also if anyone is using it with Android, would love to hear about it!

My use case: Marching Snare Drum using my Android phone to receive MIDI and act as the virtual instrument (and yes, I am aware iPhone would be preferable due to latency issues :-)

Yes, once setup, you don't need the control application. I haven't tested on Android but it should work.

I plugged an ED4 directly into my Note 10 using a USB C to USB B cable and it worked perfectly.

Looking around the site I noticed DSP Trigger, now I'm thinking at least for techies in this use case that that plus either a Windows PC Compute Stick, Tablet, or Virtual Machine running under Android (although guessing there may be too much latency in that case) might make more sense then the hardware solution.
