wow that's nutso.

So I have been experiencing flamming with my kick pedals on a TMC-6, which all 3 are spill-over out of room from two ED10's. I dedicated them to the TMC-6 because I had one, and they are all simple (Roland) triggers, and there's no cross-talk possibility. But this re-trig problem popped up and I can't tweak it away.

Today I finally got around to swapping some inputs around with my eDUMin10's, to see if this re-trig flam problem would go away - and the ED10's worked great (almost as expected). But I'm out of trigger inputs on the ED-10's.
So I thought - 'go order a ED4' - oops - here I am looking at 'no ED4's.

For the longest time I've had an ancient Alesis Trigger IO sitting on my shelf, and so I pulled it out - literally blew the dust off - swapped out the TMC-6 setup and hey, it actually works very well for the kicks. No more flamming. Nice and snappy kicks all around. it was literally plug'n'play (USB, on a hub) and a simple tweak of a few settings for the three separate kick pedals. I wonder if it's the Trigger IO's USB capability , vs MIDI DIN out only on the TMC-6(?). It works.

Anyhow - maybe I'll re-visit the ED4 purchase if/when the Trigger IO (possibly) doesn't work out - but sure glad I hadn't yard sale'd it in the meanwhile.

I sprung for an eDRUMin4 yesterday, to add to using with my two ED10's. Glad to see they are back in stock.

Using a pair of KT-10 pedals, and a KD-120 pedal, the Roland TMC-6's re-trig functionality was inadequate (flamming problems, no matter the adjustment) and the TriggerIO 'threshold' adjustment wasn't low enough for the KD-120 - i.e. intermittent or no triggering on soft hits even at the lowest setting. The trigger IO was adequate for the KT-10's though. The KT-10's, which I have eventually liked the feel of (after adjusting their balance weights), seem to have more output. Low threshold tactility isn't a problem for them.
Pretty much sums up my triggering experiences with older drum brain and controller hardware, having owned/used TMC-6, TD-4, TD-10, TD-20 and the TriggerIO over the course of time.

Thanks, Rob!
