Indeed. I will fix it. That's what I get for using info from the web. Fixed for the next build. Thanks.

Posted build 36
  • Fixed Mimic Pro drum map.
  • Small change to allow faster triggering when using a sustain type pedal to trigger MIDI notes.

I've been caught up in other projects outside of this beta, but did load up b35 today. Things were going along well - until I focused on the HH.
I was working on trying to figure out the new "what was previously the HH -link- button in v1.6, what is now a menu 'HH number 1' in v2" because the pedal wasn't triggering closed pedal all of a sudden.
and... I took the opportunity to physically modified my VH-12 (cut the top stem in half with a hacksaw to make room for a lower placed hovering left side crash CYM1).
So upon physically plugging in the HH again (two jacks, sound & control), it seemed like eDRUMin sent all sorts of 'skip to the next bank -maybe- of notes!' foot pedal triggering.
In other words, all hell broke loose - like 'let's go re-mapping!!'. A lot of things were suddenly not at their previous mapped numbers - just a mixed bag. Wasn't sure how to recall it, because I was trying to figure out between loading up the v1.6 nd v2 versions and wasn't sure what was saved last.
Maybe auto save would be cool if it allowed for a version '20-60 minutes prior' (levels of undo?) because it takes at least maybe that long to ascertain that a lot(!) has happened...oh well. beta. life.

And custom notes vs drum maps, trigger by trigger. kind of a lot to wade through.

So if there's anything to be learned here in beta-land for today's little time slice, make sure to turn all of your stuff off electronically before re-plugging in (especially) the HH - which shares sockets on the eDRUMin10 with that 'next set of notes' functionality.
Now I've got to work through every piece to re-map, due to this. Hopefully not a big deal if all the other curve and levels stuff stays true.
I have never used the foot pedal jacks to change banks 1-4 of note assignments, so I'm not sure how it is all connected, but something today went kapow. beware...

Maybe the lesson is don't physically modify your hihat controller?

The pedal input is indeed very sensitive to abrupt changes, I use a roland psu power brick when I’m not using the computer but the other day I needed to change something in the edrumin controller app and plugged it via usb but forgot to disconnect the psu… result? The hihat went haywire, until I disconnect it and connect it via usb only. Adding to that I’m using the external powered atv hihat, so it drew current from the roland psu, the usb and the atv psu…

I am seeing something that could be a bug. It only happens with 2 of the 16 mono inputs I am currently using. The problem is with the edge scaler control. It keeps snapping back to it's previous setting after I change it and then hit the edge zone on the pad. I have tried turning it up all the way and down all the way and anywhere in-between and it always snaps back to it's previous setting. I think that maybe the level changes stay but the dial won't indicate this once the pad is played. I am using the newest version and I updated the firmware to 36, The inputs this happens on are... well I am not certain... it would be nice to have #'s by each input. I will draw a graphic and indicate which pads with x's.
o o | o o | o o | o x | o o |
o o | o o | o o | o x | o o |
( the last 2 mono inputs above and below I haven't been using so I don't know if they have this problem)
Could you check to see if it is a bug. If not what could be causing this? thanks, Mbira

I always power off the ED10 before unplugging/plugging the hi-hat. If I don't it doesn't see the pedal movement after the unplug/plug.

It's a display bug and I've fixed it for the next build. Thank-you.

:D man that HH top stem thing was sure fighting that hack saw blade.
I was definitely worried I was going to break - something.
I really don't understand why the stem (previously) extended so far upwards. It's useless.
What do drummers do with it? Is it why it's called a 'high' hat - where someone hangs their cap?

thanks Rob, Also i should have mentioned that those 2 pads where the edge scaler was not sticking are the only 2 pads where the edge triggering is not working right. It triggers edge samples with hard hits in the middle of the pad too and some drum sounds sometimes trigger in the edge zone. All pads are the same and the others work very predictably. Could there be more going on or could the display bug fix help with this too? I am using dual zoned cymbal setting on all pads as that works best.
