I have a question for the mad lads out there.
lets say that I was to get 7- PDx100 pads for my toms .. could I set them up for position sensing?
here is my fiendish plan
ok ill run through the process for one pad to make it easier I would just do this 7 times so since most toms in superior do not have center middle and edge sounds that i have seen (plz correct me if I'm wrong) ..so I would need to replicate these articulations by creating three snares instruments (per pad) and have center stay the same but adjust the sustain and perhaps the velocity since that seems to be the most affected by ps for other two instruments for the mid-center and edge. now that I have the sounds I add them to the cc for that tom . theoretically, this should work because it's acting like a snare. but the question is does the ed10 have the horsepower to handle 7 toms with ps 2 acting like snares (using cc messages) 2 hihats (using cc messages) and 1 real snare with PS (using cc)
LOL told ya I was crazy whats your thoughts?

Re: Just because I'm crazy as a fox
I honestly have no idea what you are intending to setup, nor how well PDX-100 pads work for positional sensing, but yes, the ED10 definitely has the horsepower to handle that setup.
Re: Just because I'm crazy as a fox
ok i was thinking if all pads had positional sensing it would really add another dimension of realism .. rob let me ask you this.
based on these pictures of my drums
if you were to build a DYI and wanted PS and rim where would you put the piezos?
or whats the best configuration I can build anything . I could gut these out and cut the center bar out to create the best configuration.. how would you do it ?

I would try mounting the head sensor on top of the bar, and the rim sensor underneath, both centered.

Did you try positional sensing on the PDX-100?
