eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Ya, I think I'm pretty happy with the hihat implementation, too. BTW, there's no reason why you can't mix and match 'Kit pieces' and 'Custom Notes' . For example, you could have most of your inputs setup to kit pieces and then leave the one you need to switch with the footswitch set to custom notes.
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Hi Rob, I have been experimenting with positional sensing ... it is so cool I hope I can get it working consistently on my DIY pads. I think I found a bug? with positional sensing in version 1.6 that you might want to fix in version 2. It has to do with right clicking on the midi note number to switch to the midi note for positional sensing. This works fine if you have selected stereo pad but if you choose dual mono then the positional midi note # will not change to a midi note by right clicking on it. Is this something you can fix Rob? Since I am working with Battery 4 that shows midi notes and not the numbers it would be great to have this function work in edrumin. I hope i explained this well enough so you understand the issue if not I can try to clarify. thanks for your help, Mbira

Excellent description of the problem which let me directly to the issue. Fixed in the next build.
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Wow that was quick thanks Rob! I seem to be having another problem with midi notes I didn't assign being triggered and not the ones that are assigned. The correct note is shown but the cell in battery 4 that is triggered is not assigned. It seems to happen with one of the dual mono inputs but not the other but I am not positive about that. I can't get it to stop triggering the wrong sounds. I thought maybe it was triggering from the other mono input of the dual mono but that doesn't seem to be the case.
And related to this: When I click to cycle the midi notes for Hit (drum head) they used to play the correct sounds, but now the sounds are not the ones I have loaded in battery 4 for those midi notes. Very weird and it only seems to be a problem on pads that I have added positional sensing to. I restarted edrumin and battery 4 but still the problem prevails.
Do you know what could be causing this? Or is there any more info I could give you that would help figure this out?

In V2 there is a MIDI monitor now. You can trigger your pad and see if the MiDI monitor has the note you were expecting.mrmbira wrote: ↑Sun Feb 27, 2022 2:12 amWow that was quick thanks Rob! Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Rob, I just played with it some more and what seems to be happening now is that there is some unwanted interaction between the dual mono inputs. If I unplug the trs plug from the edrumin and plug back in I get the correct assigned sound for drum head. but if I then play the other pad of the dual mono input the wrong midi note is played when I go back to the other pad. Now the midi note that is being played for head is the positional midi note even if i shut off the positional sensing. And when it does play the correct midi drumhead note, and I turn on positional sensing, I can on longer get the positional note to trigger. This is with notes not CC.
It does seem to affect always the same one of the mono pads.
Thanks Dadwrshpdrum that will be great when I move to v2. I am knew to this software and was planning to wait for the finished build as without a manual i think I would be lost.

Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
I'll try to reproduce your issue.
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
I can confirm that the ring connection is not properly sending its positional note. Fixed for the next build as well as the following..
- When positional sensing is set to note, you will also be be able to audition the sound while changing the positional note.
- When positional sensing is set to note, the position note indicator doesn't always correctly light up.
- Positional note indicator might incorrectly light up.
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
Thanks again Rob! I did notice that I could not audition the note too and it will be great to be able to. Do You think the ring connection is the whole problem? would that make the main drum head note not work right too? Hope that solves it all. Glad I stumbled on to these before you were done with the next build. -I am appreciating your quick attention to these issues thanks , Mbira
Re: eDRUMin version 2 Alpha
I don't think so. I have two mesh pads setup on a dual mono input, each using positional sensing as note as well as edge sense, and both seem to be working perfectly independently. I can tell you that the bug I just fixed could likely affect the drum connected to the tip. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm not interested in investigating that either. If you are really keen to test the changes, let me know and I'll post build 23 with the fixes.
