Crosstalk Question

Post by A New Day Productions »

I'm running a couple of ED10's and have everything dialed in satisfactorily, but occasionally I will hit a drum or cymbal and it just doesn't trigger. It seems to be restricted to the snare, the right kick and cymbals generally. It doesn't happen often, but of course any is too much. Is this likely a crosstalk being turned up too much issue? I have it at 15 on every trigger on the kit, which I believe is the default. Also, just so I understand when adjusting the crosstalk, it's the crosstalk level not on the offending trigger, but rather the offended trigger that needs to be adjusted. For example, if I was to hit a cymbal and it falsely triggered a tom, I would raise the crosstalk level on the tom. Is that correct?

Ya, that's most likely because your crosstalk controls are set too high. And the way you adjust them is just as you say.
