some settings not being saved

Post by mrmbira »

Hi Rob, I posted this problem under the new Alpha topic but no response there so maybe it should be a new topic. When I edit an input some of the settings aren't saved as I set them. These are: gain, thresh, and hold, and i think crosstalk. I have Auto saved these and when that wasn't working I manually saved just after editing. It looks like the settings have been saved but when i go to anther input and then back to the one i saved the settings have changed ie: I set and saved the hold function to 10.3 and when I switch inputs and then come back it has been changed to 9.7. Same with the other functions for that input- they are not what I saved. I tried saving with Auto input follow disabled and still same problem. Are there some setting ranges that are not allowed? Scan, edge sense, and x-stick seem to hold saved setting ok.
Is this the first you have heard of this? Is it something I am doing wrong? Is there a fix for this next version? The inputs were dual mono. thanks for any help, Mbira

Even if you don't save and don't have auto save enabled, the settings should stick as long as the device doesn't loose power. I think what you are seeing is related maximum resolution of the those particular controls. Hold time has a resolution of about .4 ms ((100-5)/256). So if you make a small enough change, it won't actually result in different saved value.

so actually the hold function won't change unless i move it at least 1ms. But it will save now. it is a little weird the way it works but probably no problem, thanks.
