MIDI Expression iO - Dual CC with footpedal - Long and short presses not recognized

I'm trying to get Dual CC working with my Boss FS-6 pedal. The FS-6 has two pedal switches, both set to Momentary, with separate A and B outputs. I connect the A output to the MIDI Expression iO input 4, configure the software for that input for Dual CC, but it doesn't understand the difference between long/short pedal presses. It only outputs CC13. Attached photo of my pedal and SW config screen. Am I missing something? I also tested with a different simple Fatar PS-100 footswitch, with the same result.

2.9.3. build 18. Received the Expression iO yesterday, so all fresh...

Also, if you are making adjustments to the polarity and latch settings on the pedal itself, you'll need to unplug and replug in the pedal because the MIDI Expression input detects the polarity when the pedal is plugged in and if you change the polarity while it's plugged in, it'll become confused.

I upgraded the software, that did not help, then upgraded the firmware to 2.9.4.6 and it started working!
