I'm going to get you to capture some data from unit so I can take a closer look at what's going on.
1. Open the control application.
2. Select the input for your snare.
3. Right click on the eDRUMin logo 5 times.
4. Left click on it once.
5. Click the record button that will appear above the velocity curve.
6. Hit your pad about 10 times from soft to hard directly over the sensor
7. Click the record button again to stop recording.
8. Email the file ED_Data.hex that will appear on your desktop to support at audiofront dot net.

Re: Hotspot not detected
So I took a quick look at the data, and there's not a good hotspot signature in the waveform--hints of one, but nothing clear. It could be a million things, hard to say. I'm not a DIY guy (at least not for pads), although there are a bunch around. Maybe if you posted some pics of your build we might be able to spot something.

But you see that a small hit goes directly to 127 compared if its not in the center?Rob wrote:So I took a quick look at the data, and there's not a good hotspot signature in the waveform--hints of one, but nothing clear. Re: Hotspot not detected
Yes, I did see that. I'm not denying that you are having hotspot issues. I've designed the hotspot suppression algorithm around the signal from a Roland PD-125 and a ddt ms-140.
I can't guarantee that it's going to work with every commercially available pad with a center mounted piezo, let alone DIY designs. There are just so many variables at play.

Re: Hotspot not detected
If any diy have any ideas why this build does not detect hot spot it would be really appreciated.
The things under piezo is some rubber from a mat(picture included) stack together as a decoupler. Maybe not useful for edrumin.

Re: Hotspot not detected
What do you use as leveler ? Is it foam ?
Maybe try with some hard material.
