Snare mesh head triggering side stick only

Post by MWJT42 »

I'm struggling to troubleshoot this.

Often, the snare head seems to get stuck on sidestick only for a few seconds. All mesh head hits only trigger SS.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I think it happens when there's not enough decoupling between the 2 piezo.

Before I had 2x 35mm piezo and it never occurred. Now that the head is 27 mm and the rim is a 35mm it happens to me too. Like if the sensitivity of the rim is too high compared to the head.

Maybe I'm wrong but that what I was thinking. I saw some pictures of the eDRUMin with 2 different gain sliders for the same input but I don't know if it's for an older version or something else that I didn't used yet. I'm also not sure if I would fix the problem. But my gain was way lower when I had a 35mm piezo.

Thanks, yeah, something like that is going on.

Forgot to mention, the snare has been working perfectly for months, and only now is this happening. Unsure if its an eDRUMin update, or degradation in the piezo or snare build.

Nothing changed in the calbration?

You could try downgrading the eDRUMin to see if it's still there.

Nothing changed. Yeah, I'll attempt a downgrade, thanks. Same process as an upgrade?

I'm not sure how to do it or if possible.

Just reporting back for anyone that may run into this, this was caused by my Jobeky AI trigger bar coming loose. It's only big enough for a single screw each end on a 5" snare.

I've tightened up the screws (with some Locktite this time) and the problem has gone away.
