DIY low volume cymbals, Metal dual zone pad type. Using mylar edge strip from Goedrum. used successfully on 2 and 3-zone cymbals.

- When the hats are closed, and striking the hats, would I get the bow or edge detected? I currently getting edge.

I guess my question when is the bow and edge detected?

When the mylar strip has pressure on it, you will get the edge articulation. Sounds like it's working as expected (unfortunately).
