Error Message

Hi Rob- I've been experimenting using a Raspberry Pi based drum sample playback unit. Of course I'm using eDRUMin for the triggering. The connection is through the USB port, not the MIDI port. It works very well with the RPi unit. I'm experiencing one small issue though. Despite edrumin functioning normally, the app displays the "Plug in your eDRUMin" error screen. I could live with that except for the fact I can't access the active screen. Any possible solutions? Thanks

It's not clear how you have things connected. What eDRUMin hardware are you using?

Just standard connection - Second gen ED4 plugged into second gen ED10 via host port, USB to drum device. Again, edrumin functions normally even while the app displays the error message. Plugging the USB cable going to the drum device back into the PC that's running SD3 removes the message.
Just grasping at straws here, but guessing that edrumin looks for a threshold level of voltage on the connected USB port to determine if its plugged in. If the Raspberry Pi's power supply is defective or weak, normal bus load may bring its output voltage down slightly, and thus possibly the minimum threshold voltage the app may be looking for. The obvious would be to just try a different PS, which I don't have, but would be willing to purchase if this theory even makes the slightest bit of sense.

There is no error message. If the eDRUMin is not connected to the PC, the control application will not work (it doesn't communicate via MIDI).

ok, thanks for clearing up that misconception
