Anyone else having issues with this? I noticed in the last few days, I play for a bit and then input just stops and I have to restart the module. A few things did change recently:
Firmware update to 2.0.2.0. When it crashes and I look at it app I notice it says firmware 1.0.1.1, so a failed firmware update is my first guess. I tried factory resetting but it still happens.
I got a Roland KD10 kick pad, which does seem to trigger the need to reset more quickly than the other pads.
I'm using a 9v AC adapter with correct polarity etc, but am unsure if it's the exact one that came with the device.
I'm running on an M1 Macbook Pro, which means I do have to run everything through a USB hub. Prior to last week the eDrumin was rock solid and by far the best drum module ever!
EDIT: I have a direct USB-C cable connection now and am seeing the same issue...
First, I would start by ditching the AD->DC adapter if you are unsure if it's the right polarity. See if that fixes the problem and then report back. You also might try updating to version 2.1. https://www.audiofront.net/downloads.php
Thanks for the quick reply! I am sure it's the right polarity / voltage but i ditched it none the less. I also updated to 2.1 but the issue persisted.
But I think I've figured it out: I have a Roland PD140DS USB Snare that I use as a basic floor tom. I have a small USB hub connected to the eDrumin that splits between that and a Roland Octapad. I know the PD140DS is a bit overkill but I've been using it as a class compliant device for the last year with no issue. I unplugged the PD140DS this morning and have not had the crash occur since. The Octapad still is detected and functioning smoothly.
So I think there must be a new incompatibility with the PD140DS? Would that make sense as a cause? Bummer as I've been using it for a while but I know it's not being put to the best use here.
Maybe it's a compatibility issue with the hub. Try plugging the PD140DS into the host port without the hub and see if the issue persists. You should also make sure that the 'Self' button for the PD140DS on the eDRUMin USB Host Port configuration page is not enabled.
