Exclamation mark

Hi,

In the control app, one of my inputs has an exclamation mark suddenly (although I did not change anything).
What does the exclamation mark mean?
(Sorry if this has been answered before, but I could not find the information in the manual and the forum search didn't help either.)

Best regards,
Pim

This used to mean there was a wiring/cable incompatibility problem. Since it just suddenly appeared my guess is your cable or pad may have a short. Have you tried another cable?

Hi Mylo,

Thanks for the reply. I unplugged and plugged it in again...the exclamation mark disappeared, but I wanted to know what it means anyway.
If it was short does that mean the pad or the eDrumIn got a (permanent) damage?

Best regards,
Pim

No, they are likely both fine. Like pim said, it means that there's a connection issue between the Ring and the Sleeve of your TRS jack. For a switch type pad, eDRUMin expects this to be an open switch.

The eDRUMin is fine and the pad is likely fine. The Most likely culprit is an old cable with loose connections / solder joints.

Hi, that is good to hear. I better replace that cable then.
