Issues With Drum-tec Pro Snare

Im using a new eDrumin-10 with up to date firmware, I believe, but I havnt been able to get good performance out of the 14in drum-tec pro snare.
Issues with both trigger reliability and accurate POS/rimshots etc… Has anyone else had an issue with this, or is there some way I should be setting it up?
Thank you

Hit your pad slightly off center and post a screenshot of your settings so I can take a look.

OK here are some photos. I included a picture that tries to show where the piezo cone is located, and approx where I was hitting the pad. Ill note that I struck the pad a few times, slightly moving away from center, and the calibration settings remained the same.

Oh and Just to clarify, the flashlight was not on the pad when I was calibrating

Hi,
I have such a drum-tec - style snare.
Did you already set the Rimshot Range control and the green bar of the Positon Sens control.
Regards
Manuel

Hello,
I have a 14" drum-tec snare, I deactivated the hot-spot management (I found that it took away dynamics) so I have a few hot-spots but nothing really bad. the positional sensing works pretty well on it and the stick, rimshot are very well detected, here are my settings just in case ...

ok cool thank you ill see if those work. Ive tried all over the place with short and long scan/hold times, and a variety of different POS settings and rimshot settings. What VST are you using? Im using SD3. Maybe Im messing with stuff too much there

To be honest, no not really….I have even purchased a drum dial to make sure the head is evenly tensioned. Ive tried using a one ply head also to see if any difference was made. positional sensing is “close” to picking up accurate placements of consistent hits, but im pretty disappointed with the responsiveness and overall playability of the snare. The dynamics don’t really exist, drum rolls feel unnatural and have missed notes, flams are nearly impossible to hear, stuff with the rim is inconsistent, and it just seems to take way more effort than it should to play anything that is upbeat w/ high tempo.
Any recommendations for the location of the foam cone point? Is it supposed to be poking above the bearing edges, when no head is on? Just barely meeting the head/even with bearing height, or a little below/not touching the head? Im all messed up haha

That’s disappointing indeed, such an expensive snare, have you tried a double ply mesh head? There was some discussion before that a 3 ply head somehow affects the triggering response since the waveforms are definitely interpreted different by the edrumin
