New Guy needs connection help
Re: New Guy needs connection help
Hi again, I have to find out if using TRS cables will be a problem along the way of setting up pads and module, the ddrum4 module only takes TS cables except for the hihat is stereo. Is the path going to be Ddrum pads/cymbals xlr TRS jack out to eDRUMin 8 inputs to midi out to Ddrum4 midi in? if I got that right then I'm doing OK but is that going to work with using dual mono split triggers. Thanks
Re: New Guy needs connection help
If the ddrum hihat uses a TRS cable, I'm assuming that they have combined the trigger / pedal into one cable. If that's the case, you will need to split it so that the trigger goes into one to the trigger inputs, and the pedal signal goes into the pedal input.
As for trigger inputs, the eDRUMin will work with both TS or TRS cables and you can combine your mono pads using TS cables into splitter cables (TRS) and that should all work fine.

Re: New Guy needs connection help

Re: New Guy needs connection help
How do you have ddrum4 connected to the ED8?
Re: New Guy needs connection help
all the pads are TS cable to numbered inputs and midi out to midi in on module, usb cable to MacBook Pro which is showing pad hits on user interface,Hi Rob
Re: New Guy needs connection help
The ED8 is going to send MIDI to the ddrum4 as specified by the drum shown in the upper right have side of the UI. As there is no drum map available for ddrum 4, you might be better off changing your pads to use 'custom notes' and manually setting the MIDI values. If you can find some information about the default MIDI assignments for the ddrum 4, I'll happily make a drum map for you.
