I have an Alesis DM10 MkII Pro kit and want to expand it. I was wondering if I can use the eDRUMin 4 to connect a few additional cymbal pads. I would connect the new pads to the eDRUMin 4 and then connect the eDRUMin through a MIDI cable to the Alesis DM10 MkII Pro module. Would that work? Would the module create the new channels for the new sounds so that I can hear everything through the module's headphone out. Thanks.

I have no idea. I looked in the user manual and nothing is mentioned. Perhaps ask on the Alesis forums. I noticed that the unit has a USB A port for a flash drive, though. You could probably use that to power the eDRUMin, which is handy.

I have a DM10 (not the MKII) and I have an eDrumin10.
I have done exactly what you have asked about, My setup is an eDrumin10 module, I have all my gear plugged into that (Custom drums, Roland pad, Yamaha pads, Alesis Cymbals (Metal Surge ones), Roland Cymbals etc all plugged into the eDrumin10. I then have a midi cable from the eDrumin10 (Midi out) to the DM10 (Midi in) to trigger sounds.
I have done some time measurements using my oscilloscope and my trigger time on the DM10 is 10ms just for triggering, the midi to sound adds an extra 2.5ms (at least). So if I plugged them into the DM10 I would get over 12ms latency, if rather than that, I plug them into my eDrumin10 and then Midi cable to my DM10 I get under 5ms Latency from hit to sound, which is pretty good!
A note on the Alesis cymbals, My Surge metal ones have a Piezo on the bell, so you can't use it on the eDrumin10 as a 3 zone cymbal, it works though as 2 x 2 zone cymbals, which is fine for me.
Also my DM10 module (I don't know about the newer ones), cymbal choking only works if the cymbals are plugged directly into the DM10 module AND only if used in the Ride & Crash inputs, which is weird. the eDrumin10 module sends the choke midi, the DM10 just doesn't process it.
Not a major issue but I thought I should mention it.

Yeah So I was wrong about this, the 3 zone Alesis Surge metal cymbals should work with the eDrumin10, so obviously I need to do some more playing around, lets chalk that up to user error (mine).
