Sorry if this has been covered somewhere before but I can't seem to find any threads so...
I'm having one small issue with Levels mode.
I'm running a Roland VH10 and triggering BFD3/Platinum Samples.
The problem I'm having is that when I'm playing a closed HH resting (without "tight" pressure), HH edge notes are getting choked off. If I push down hard on the pedal it cleans up and plays perfectly. But any hit that's on the tight/closed border or just in the closed area cut off the sound. I've tried lifting the tight up or lowering the closed all the way down but it doesn't make a difference as there is always a separation point in the two zones that will cause the issue.
As you're probably aware, BFD HH's are mostly all only 4 zone. Don't really want to change technique and always have to be mashing the pedal. What am I doing wrong or is there a flaw in that section?
Thanks for any help.
Problem with Hihat Levels Mode
Re: Problem with Hihat Levels Mode
I'm pretty sure BFD supports using CC4 for hihat position, so that would probably be best to use that mode instead of levels mode. If you really want to use levels mode, may try enabling the 'only send CC with hit' option.

Re: Problem with Hihat Levels Mode
Hi Rob,
I tried switching to CC4 mode but I get open HH hits when the pedal is closed etc...kind of random. I think that's why I chose Levels mode in the first place. I could never get CC mode working properly. Not sure what the issue is. I have the BFD3 Map selected in the edrumin. Could it be my own BFD key map or something?
Anyway, using the 'only send CC with hit' option seems to have done the trick. So thanks for that tip. Any reason to not continue that way? Sounds great to me but I do want things optimized the right way.
Thanks for the quick reply!

Re: Problem with Hihat Levels Mode
If it's working like that, you might as well keep it that way. I don't think BFD can transition through hihat samples anyway. Another fix for your problem would be to disable BFD 's auto closed pedal note.
