Pedals with EDI4 + EDI8

Post by i420piate »

can I use both pedal inputs if I have these two daisy-chained? Like an HH controller and a switch pedal to change banks at the same time?
Alesis Surge w/ 5 tom pads, an A2E kids 16" kick, 6 Alesis 10" 1-zone w/ choke cymbals, Lemon 12" 2-zone 2pc hihat, and a 15" 3-zone ride into an EDI8+EDI4+Surge module using SD3/SSD5.5 in Logic on a Mid-2015 MBP with Mac OS Sequoia.

Yes. Let's a assume you have the switch connected to the ED4.

You can use the switch to change banks on the ED4 using the 'Bank Changes' mode.

Or you can use the switch to change banks on the ED8 by having is send program changes to the ED8.

Thanks for the quick reply. So if I have an EDI8, a USB hub with EDI4 + Alesis Surge module plugged into the EDI8, will the crosstalk feature work with the signals from the Alesis module also?

Yes, from the perspective of MIDI arriving at your computer, the signals from all 3 devices will have crosstalk cancellation applied.
