Akai MPD218 PadController as SamplePad

Post by mprinz »

Hi!

I have here an Akai MPD218 MIDI Controller.
I ordered it for 83 € from Amazon.de. Now, I'm thinking of
keeping it as sample pad. It's a factor of 10 in the price to those Roland devices (sure , with larger pads).

Is there a simple sample pad to MIDI device out there.
I could build some pads, but than I'm gonna run out of trigger inputs.

It should be used for triggering only other song parts or some effects ...

I also could rip that thing apart and use those inputs with my one pads... But... hm.
I don't know how it does look like inside.

Does anyone here have some experiences with that strange ideas?

Hi,

just for the sake of completeness:

I returned the AKAI MIDI controller, and ordered a tabletop AlesisCompactKit 7,
that in principle is doing the job, but looks quite - what is it - trashy. And it's huge without a
mounting option.

Now I found this device:

Sorry, Rob, you may delete this, but I want to share this, cause all of using your devices are in
software drumming and don't need the Roland 800$ samples.
