Misused CARRERA Speed (HiHat) Controller

yesterday I could not resist to try it: My boys got a CARRERA slot car set and I saw these speed controllers and ...
With one of the twins I took a closer look. Yap, just a 10 kOhms fader.
I connected it as force sensitive resistor to a eDRUMin4 and it worked pretty well.
I don't know, these things are pretty cheap (around 15$) and you have a long cable, housing, and the travel range is ok for
hihat usage.
If you need a DIY idea for a cheap hihat controller or some other MIDI CC controller...
Ha, right now I think of using one of these controllers for the detune of the snare drum, tom, in a solo.
