Jobeky side triggers
I know that the Jobeky center mounted triggers are likely too hot for the eDRUMin due to their use of cylinders instead of cones. But from what I've seen on the forums it is sounds like the side triggers are okay? I'm thinking of getting Jobeky side triggers for my 14" snare, 10" rack tom and 13" floor tom and want to make sure that will work with the eDRUMin.
Re: Jobeky side triggers
I don't think there are any issue with the side triggers, as long as you don't hit too close to the trigger itself.

Re: Jobeky side triggers
Yeah, I have their side triggers on my toms but I cant seem to get the rim zone out of them - im pretty sure thats my set up though...iv heard no one else saying that. I think its because I put stuffing into my drums to rest on the res head (yes Im still using proper res heads coz im cheap and had them!). Anyway, where its resting on the sides of the shells I think its stopping it being able to recognise the rim hit - that in conjunction with really bad settings!
Honestly, it doesnt bother me though....how often do I play rim clicks on the toms....erm never so far. I will figure it out eventually though,
The signal is really consistent around the drum as well - even on my 18" floor tom - or is it 16? anyway its big and responds beautifully all across the head (there is a hotspot on the actual trigger but I just have them at the bottom of the drums...like towards me so they are in a place that would be pretty hard and annoying to hit anyway.)
On a diff note - im hugely impressed with their bar, centre mount kic trigger - iv had no issues at all.. Incredibly responsive and I play fast punk so I constantly hammer the single pedal - heel/toe stylee and no issues at all. Same with double kick drum.
Even their centre mount trigger is ok (ish). I ripped it apart kind of and put my own really soft cone on it and its reduced both the hotness?...heat? of the signal as well as significantly reducing the hotspotting (without hotspot reduction - in fact the hotspot reduction doesnt do much for me but the cone is so soft I dont really need it hugely - if I was to replace anything on my it it would be the snare trigger. It does what I need pretty darned well but playing softly sounds a little more fake. But what do I now? iv been playing drums for a couple years and have had anbsolutely no lessons or anything - in fact it was in this forum a couple months ago rob explained the difference between a rim shot and side stick or rim clicks.
Its more - im curious what else is out there - im hugely open to suggestions for a new snare trigger - was looing at the gear drum ones - they look cool.
Hope this helped in some way - let us now how your conversion goes! I do love drumming and the drumming gear! I have a Serious penchent going atm!
