Piezo placement clarification

Post by ddropski »

@Rob,

in an earlier post, you said the best place to mount a rim sensor "The best place is the underside of the trigger bar, below the head sensor."
Can you please elaborate on this did you mean actually on the bar directly below the center-mounted head sensor? to me that seems like an odd place how will the ed10 know which is the head and which is the rim?

I apologize for the noob questions.

The head sensor will receive pressure directly from the cone, the rim sensor will not. The reason to mount the rim sensor centrally is so that gets an even amount of stimulation regardless of where on the rim of your pad you hit. If your crossbar is a C channel type structure, you might be better off placing it right next to the head sensor on the top side. If you are doing DIY, you can easily experiment.
