Hi-Hat mapping for medeli module (Fame, Millenium, ...)

Hi,
I've just received my eDRUMin 10 yesterday and am still busy configuring. I'm totally impressed with the module and configurator so far!

I'll be using it with a Fame DD-One XT, which I believe is essentially a Medeli DD-638. What I'd like to achieve is to set it up both for use with SD3 and with the original module. The module has the advantage that I can just turn it on and instantly start playing, without booting up my audio PC, which is great for short breaks during (home-office) work.

I've already roughly calibrated my pads and assigned MIDI notes for the Medeli module. Triggering through the USB host port works as supposed. However, I can't get the hi-hat to work. After reading through the eDRUMin manual, I finally got the impression that it might not even be possible at all? The way I understand the Medeli, it simply expects 5 different MIDI notes, for HH Open-Bow, HH-Open-Edge, HH-Closed-Bow, HH-Closed-Edge and finally HH-Pedal. The original module also sends pedal state as CC04, but it doesn't seem to react on it when receiving MIDI.

Am I missing something, or is is currently not possible to support this type of mapping?
Cheers,
Florian

The is a known issue with version 1.3. Its fixed in version 1.4 which you can download from the BETA thread near the top of this forum.

So I guess this refers to the note banks for hi-hat sounds? How do I have to set it up? I tried to assign the different notes for open/closed hats to banks 1 and 2 of the hi-hat. But how do I get the pedal to switch between the banks while playing?

Assuming you have your hihat pedal linked to a trigger input, when you change the bank of the linked trigger input, the hihat pedal's bank will change along with it.

I have that, and I see the banks are linked in the configurator. But when playing, I only get the notes of the bank that's currently active in the configurator. The pedal doesn't switch between the banks 1 and 2.

Am I missing anything obvious?

Can you post a screenshot of your settings for the pedal that's controlling the bank changes so that I can try to reproduce your issue.

This is what it looks like. Bank 1 of the HH is set to notes 46 and 26

What you would do is plug a sustain or foot switch into the second pedal input and use that to control the selected bank.

I don't think that's what I want. I don't want a second pedal to switch between open/closed hats.

What actually does work is when I set my hh-pedal as footswitch in latch mode and use this to toggle banks. But then I don't have a pedal sound. And not x-talk suppression.

So, just to make sure I understand it right: This is not a bug, but want I imagined is currently not possible? Namely that the hh-pedal (in hh-mode) toggles banks for the hats, while also triggering a pedal sound and supporting x-talk supression?

I think we are on a wild goose chase here. I don't think you want to be using Note Banks at all.

I understood that your problem was that the eDRUMin wasn't sending the hihat pedal notes to your Fame DD-One XT, which is connected via the USB Host Port. As I said in my original reply, version 1.3 has a bug where the hihat position and notes won't be sent over the USB host port properly. This is fixed in version 1.4. You don't need to use note banks at all.

If I have misunderstood you problem, please try to describe it again.
