eDRUMin version 1.4 BETA now available
Posted: Wed Jan 13, 2021 6:53 am
eDRUMin 1.4 BETA is now available. Use at own risk. Downgrading from 1.4 back to 1.3 will cause your device to factory reset. At this point I advise against overwriting any of your user presets in case you need to downgrade. I will maintain links to the latest version below. As always, I appreciate feedback and bug reports.

New Features
Standard / Advanced mode
There's a text button above the velocity curve area to switch between standard (default) and advanced mode. The idea here is to make the device easier to use for new users. In standard mode, note banks, velocity curves, and hihat impact mode are disabled. This setting is stored on the device, and not in the UI. When operating in standard mode, the device will always use bank 1, and all articulation will use the first velocity curve.
When in advanced more, there are two icons to switch between adjusting curves and editing bank assignments. This was done in order to add the new functionality without needing to completely redesign the UI or add too much confusing clutter.
Bell input and Dual Mono Mode
Roland 3-Zone rides and 3-Zone metal cymbals can now have their bell inputs on an input that is set to Dual Mono. Make sure you change the input that is destined to be the bell to dual mono mode first. The wiring gets pretty complicated, IMH. I had to split the output of my CY-15 BOW/BELL input, and then feed the BELL input into another splitter which was used to merge the BELL and the piezo of another pad together.
Velocity Curves for each Articulation
Each articulation can now have and independent velocity curve (Ind checkbox). You'll need to be in advanced mode.
Note Banks for hihat Pedal
Note banks are only available when in Note Mode or Hihat mode. There's no way to use a footswitch to directly change the bank of the hihat pedal. Assuming it is properly linked to a trigger input, when the bank of the linked trigger input changes, so does the bank of the hihat pedal.
A word about presets
Presets created in earlier versions will not be changed. They will be upgraded on the fly. Don't overwrite your presets if you plan to downgrade from version 1.4 Downgrading from version 1.4 will cause your device to factory reset, and those presets can be used to restore your settings.
Versions of OSX < 11.12
I've recently upgraded my development machine to Big Sur. Unfortunately, APPLE has dropped support for versions of OSX < 11.12. In the coming weeks I will downgrade my system back to Catalina so that I can bring back support for OSX 11.8 - 11.11.
