Positional sensing Jobeky snare

Hi All,
I'm setting up my eDRUMin10 and have successfully got positional sensing working on my Jobeky snare. However i notice quite a big difference in the video tutorial and what I am experiencing. There seems to be not a particularly large area on the snare where it triggers the off centre sample. Essentially, from the centre out about 3/4 of it is the centre sample, with the final 1/4 split between the off centre and then the edge. Although I'm not a drummer in my brain I should have a slightly larger off centre area, maybe split 3/6 (Centre), 2/6 (off-Centre), 1/6(Edge)?
The Positional Sensing adjustment area doesn't seem to show what I am experiencing. The centre hit has a very small amount (black) on the left hand side, and no matter what I do to the enlarge the green area, and therefore change the left hand black area percentage it doesnt change much in real terms.
How much of this could be to do with mesh tightness? Do most people tighten their mesh so that it's really bouncing so that the sensor can tell better where you are hitting? Is that the way it works?
