Which pre-set to use? Roland TD11 or SD3

Hi All,

I have recently received the eDRUMin10 and will be starting to set it up later today. I have a question about the pre-sets.

I have a Jobeky kit with Roland hi-hat and cymbals, and was using a TD11 module to trigger SD3.

As it's a mixed kit of Roland cymbals and acoustic trigger drums, which pre-set should I initially use on the eDRUMin before tweaking? Should I use the SD3 pre-set or the Roland TD11 pre-set. When I was using the TD11 it was triggering things correctly in SD3 but didn't have positional sensing on the snare which is why I ordered the eDRUMin.

If I set it to SD3 how would the eDRUMin know that I have the VH11, 2 x CY-12C and the CY-13R?

Thanks for the advice.

Stuart

Do you plan to use both? eDRUMin and TD11 or just the eDRUMin?
You can set the mapping in the eDRUMin control application, page 21 in the manual.

Anton, brings up a good point. If you are still using the TD-11, then it might be easiest to use the Roland map in eDRUMin and SD3. If you aren't going to be using the TD-11, then I would use the SD3 preset in SD3 and eDRUMin because the SD3 map is more extensive and covers more kit pieces.

Hi guys,

My plan is to sell the TD11 and only use the eDRUMin as I don't intend gigging the kit, so will not require on board sounds.

Based on what you've said I'll set the pre-set to SD3 on both the SD3 and eDRUMin. If I do that on the eDRUMin do I still have the opportunity to tell the eDRUMin which HH and cymbals I'm using to ensure I get the best triggering?

Thanks

I used the SD3 Map in the eDRUMin control program but create a separate user midi map for each SDX. Actually the only the cymbals change so I use a base SD3 map and then edit that one and save it as separate ones for each SDX.
