Presale question regarding midi and td12 vkit

Post by wenzelranch »

I am currently running a megadrum into my td12 then out into a midi on my audio interface to my daw and a vst(SD3)
I am looking at replacing the mega with a eDrum 10 in.
my question is in regards to the Crosstalk Cancellation via USB MIDI In
IS anyone using a midi to usb converter to allow you to connect and non usb modules regular midi out into the edrum?
An example of what I am talking about is on page 38 of the manual.
But in my case my module does not have usb. just old fashoined midi.
IF anyone needs more information about what i am asking or clarification please feel free.
IF anyone knows it will work and has a recommendation on a brand of midi to usb converter they know works that would be great as well.
Thanks
Dave

I don't think you need a MIDI to USB MIDI converter.

Why not setup things up like the following:

TD12 MIDI Out DIN -> ED10 MIDI In DIN (so there's crosstalk cancelation between the two devices)
ED10 USB -> Computer running SD3

if you are saying it will work, then FANTASTIC !!
The manual just led me to believe that the cross talk was ONLY if you used USB.
as it does not say anything about cross talk and midi din as an option.( so I assumed it was something in the usb part of the module separate from the midi din in outs..
Glad I asked.
cant wait to get started
Thanks

Out of interest, why are you running the TD12? Just to accommodate more pads than the E10 will allow?
