I got an email from Toontrack about a series of livestreams on YouTube Luke Oswald is doing every Thursday night at 7pm EST.
Here's last nights:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7RsXdL6U9E
He uses a full Jobeky kit (drums and cymbals) into a Roland TD-30 into SD3. He spent a good amount of time showing people what to do on the Roland side. He's had this setup forever, I doubt he would change it (uses it for drum lesson videos and also has a second setup for his band) but I kept thinking during the livestream how much better it would be with an ED10. I posted a mention the eDRUMin at one point when someone posted a comment saying only Roland can do positional sensing.
Overall I think it's worth watching for any edrummer using SD3

Should send the guy an EDrumin 4 with 1.3 loaded in... see how he likes the HH response over typical Roland.
To his credit, he really has everything streamlined quite well.
I saw the post about the video, but forgot about it, so thanks for the share!

What is eDRUMins equivalent to Roland’s Sensitivity? Is it Gain?
Be kind of cool if someone in the know could build a settings map for those coming from Roland.

Yes, gain is the same.
There are presets fords from Roland, Yamaha, Alesis, etc...
Not sure what else is needed.

I’m more talking about when I watch a video like Luke Oswald‘S and he is talking about Roland’s Sensitivity I’d like to know the equivalent on the eDRUMin. The presets are nice but give a man fish... or teach a man to fish...
I got to know how it works and why.

I dunno, I think the labelling in the eDrumIn control app is pretty self-explanatory, especially with the moving graph behind it. That's something Roland doesn't have, no matter what they name their settings.

I also think that the graphical and labelling in eDRUMin is so much easier to grasp than Roland's nomenclature.
Gain = sensitivity, scan time = hold, etc....
Also, Rob spent some time coming up with a nice manual explaining all the functions.
So, presets for giving away fish, and the manual for teaching how to fish!

Pedantic point of clarification:
Scan time = scan time
Mask time = hold
Retrigger cancel = decay

I'll blame that on the beers!

I’m definitely not asking Rob to change anything. I’m blown away by the software’s ease of use. A thread in tips and tricks with the information you see here would be enough.
