Thanks, although I can't see anything too exciting. Maybe the snare positional sensing fixes.
Known Issues:
MIDI Continuous Controller data is not always recorded correctly to the Song Track.
Not always?

Thanks for the heads up. Looks more like a bug fix release to me, not a dot upgrade.
Positional sensing seems slightly smoother but I could just be imagining that.

There’s also a core library update to 1.2
Hope the cymbals are louder, I need to set the gain at 20 for my hihat bow and ride bow because they are awfully quiet...

Ah, that's useful to know. Thanks

Downloading it now, but it's not yet added to the release notes https://www.toontrack.com/release-notes ... drummer-3/

I hope they kept the one rimshot sample for Tom 2 in the Premier Genista kit.

At the very end of one of the softest articulations, there's a voice saying quite clearly "Did you hear that?"

Startled and confused me at first, now I think it's rather charming. Been meaning to record it but it's tricky to get the triggering just right.

I agree that the cymbals are a weak spot (still are with this update.) But it pays off to spend some quality time solely in SD3 and mix the drums there before tweaking the eDrumIn.

I play mostly with a single kit (Premier Genista with Gretsch Aluminum snare) but this applies to all the default kits. Start with the George Massenburg presets; he was the recording engineer, and clearly knew what he was doing in setting the levels. With that as your starting point, load a track from the Grooves Tab (or a couple), making sure you're covering all the instruments. Play that groove on loop, then adjust the mix, and the levels of individual articulations (bows, edges, rimshots) to your liking. You can adjust which articulations are playing in the Grid Editor so you can compare how they relate to the instrument as a whole. Add EQ, compression etc., if you feel like it. Save that as a user kit, or better yet, as the default project so every time you start the program you have your own personal kit to start playing with.

If applicable, also save microphone routings, buses, in/out settings with your user kit so you don't have to fix those each time either.

And rather than duplicating these steps for each of the kits you like to play, simply replace instruments on your new default user kit, which will retain all your adjustments; tweak them some more if needed, and save those as a new preset.

After all that, start fiddling with the eDrumIn to trigger everything perfectly. This will save you tons of time and your eDrumIn should play fine with most of your presets.

I simply bumped up the levels of just those particular articulations (hihat Tight Tip and ride Bow Tip) with between 0.5 and 1 dB in the Drums tab and saved that with my main preset. No need to mess with gain settings.

Toontrack just acknowledged on their forum that there is some bugginess regarding hihat CC messages, maybe this applies to snare cc messages too. They are looking into it right now.

It reads like this is an issue with recording into SD3, not playing in general.
