Additional weirdness with MIDI channel

It's possible I'm just not understanding the way the banks work. I thought:
Set up Bank 1, so that each pad has a specific MIDI channel and note number. After the update last weekend, this started working fine. I got Bank 1 set so that all my pads were either going to channel 2 (BFD3) or channel 4 (NI Battery). Worked well.
But now it looks like, if I change the MIDI channel on Bank 1, that is replicated to Banks 2-4 and cannot be modified... mostly. Slot 2b & 4b seem to be immune from this behavior, allowing me to set the MIDI channel independently on Banks 1-4. (2b is the right half of dual mono mode on input 2.)
This is an issue for me, since there are times when I want the extra pads to be toms in a BFD3 kit, and others when I want them to trigger samples from Battery.
If there's anything I can do to help you isolate and document the issue, let me know. I tried to get a data recording of me when I was changing the MIDI channel and it wasn't sticking. But I don't even know if that tells you anything, and I can't attach it to this note.
Thanks,
Bobby
