You can decrease the hold if a second strong signal is registering. Decrease the hold so that the second spike falls outside the Hold time. You can also adjust the Decay curve. You need to adjust it to loosely follow the envelope your transients. If you are too aggressive (try to follow the envelope to closely), you could end up with double hits.
