I think the use of a switch to prevent cross talk is a good idea, however I can't really get over the use of two inputs for a little 5 inch bar.
Are there other cowbell-esque triggers that just use one input?
What are some equivalents/alternatives to the Roland BT-1?

I'm pretty sure the BT-1 does only use a single cable. You could probably connect two of them to a single eDRUMin input with a splitter cable.

This post seems to agree with me.

Keep in mind that if you use a splitter, you won't get the crosstalk canceling feature, but I suspect that the eDRUMin settings can keep crosstalk under control without the switch.

Hey Rob,
By "input" I mean like a zone or both tip and ring connector.
Sorry, it's coming from Megadrum lingo.
I might just run mono jack's into my BT-1s and see how the crosstalk fares with the right settings.
EDIT: that thead's an interesting read

Im running two BT1's using a single zone each and have zero issues with crosstalk. They work fine that way on my kit.
Re: What are some equivalents/alternatives to the Roland BT-1?
BT-1 manual says "you must use a stereo cable, or operation will not be correct"
I assume they mean "if you want to have crosstalk cancellation switch"
But I will use the BT-1 only in its most sensitive mode (piezo, without switch)
So.. is a simple standard mono plug the way to go?

Re: What are some equivalents/alternatives to the Roland BT-1?
I'm using a BT-1 with a stereo cable, but input set to "mono" on the eDRUMin. There's another thread on here about it: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=689
I have tried connecting it any which way I can think of, and I still can't tell if it's in switch mode or sensor mode, because the thing is annoyingly un-sensitive. I'm only using it as a cowbell so it's not the end of the world, but for a $100 pad I think it's frankly garbage. Would love to hear about alternatives.

Having taken one apart recently, I'd have to say the BT-1 is well built and mine is extremely sensitive. Keep in mind that you still need to use a TRS cable even if the eDRUMin input is set to mono.
Re: What are some equivalents/alternatives to the Roland BT-1?
Just to clarify, you’re using a TRS cable, input set to mono? What are your Gain settings?
Are you able to differentiate between “switch” and “sensor” mode?
