Love the edrumin, allows me to mix Yamaha and Roland Gear
but the RHH135 did not work well for me. Nowhere near to a Roland FD-9 I used before.
I only get very bad CC Data. Is it because
a) the RHH135 simply is not that great (it has a starnge mechanism)
b) it does not work great with the edrumin
c) I am doing something wrong
Yamaha RHH135 anyone
Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
Probably doing something wrong. From the eDRUMin control application, can you set the hihat to 'Expression Pedal' and see if that helps?
Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
Are you talking about the 'steps' between the values? That's just how Yamaha implements their pedals. You won't get a smooth transition like you do with a FSR implementation.
Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
that sounds like what I got. Close, a Little less closed and open seems to be all I get.
Thanks for the fast Reply.

Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
I'm pretty sure you should be able to get 4 positions, at least I can with my HH65
Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
Man, it works well with SD3 and AD2 now: nothing for SSD5 tough, only close sound (CC 4 as in SD3 and AD2)
Any ideas?

I'm using SSD5, here's how I set it up (copied from another thread):
When I set up my hihat, I had to assign the correct midi notes of my hihat pad to the corresponding midi notes of my VST (which is Steven Slate Drums 5).
Then I had to select the *Pedal Editor* on the left bar and assign a pedal note which had to correspond to the CC hihat midi note of my VST...this took me some trial and error to find the right one because
a) it wasn't stated explicitly in the manual of the eDrumin as with other VSTs like SD3, BFD3 and Addictive Drums
b) SSD5 is not always self-explanatory. Mapping anything with(in) SSD5 has always been its weakest point.
For anyone who wants to know, here are the Midi notes to get the hihat running in SSD5:
PEDAL
Pedal note: D0
Splash: C#4
CC: 4
Channel: 10
HIHAT PAD
Edge: D0
Bow: A#1
As you can see, opposite to the other VSTs mentioned in the eDrumin manual, the same midi note (D0) has to be assigned twice with SSD5.
[end of quote]
Maybe that will do?
Best regards,
Pim

Works. That was fast.
Thanks for the amazing help!

Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
Have to walk that back a little. With SD3 I can assing ranges of CC notes, so I can somehow work around the shortcomings of the RHH135, but with EZD2 or SSD5 "semi-open" Sounds simply don`t work for me. Went back to the FD9 Pedal for now, which is insanely accurate but I miss the moving HiHat, especially the fact that the cymbal is moving when its open and not moving when it is closed.
If anybody got that RHH135 figured out I would love to see those settings.

Re: Yamaha RHH135 anyone
I use a PCY135 and a FSR placed under it with a block of foam.
I get full range continuous 1 to 127 values.
And I get a 3-zone HH... Bell, Bow and Edge. Pretty cool!
