Myrk membranes

Anyone using a Myrk membrane trigger? I’m using one and get a compatibility issue error message. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this.

I'm using Mryrk membranes with my DIY Pintech cymbals for crashes but they're plugged into my MegaDrum. I'll plug it in to the eDRUMin and see if I get the message.

Very interested in this... I’m in the process of building a hi-hat using one of these for an edge switch.

But on another note... my Field 3-zone Ride, one that was working just fine, suddenly lost the edge hit. Trying to fix it, it is suddenly giving me incompatible warnings. I managed to work it out but I’m wondering if there is a glitch in the controller software giving us false incompatible warnings. I’m currently on 1.0.3.1.

Sounds like a glitch if I’m getting the same. Curious how you worked it out. Rob is away for the weekend but said he’ll look into when he gets back.

The myrk triggers are amazing. So easy to instal and super reliable so far. I wrap my cymbal edge in rubber car do trim and stick the trigger to the cymbal underneath the rubber with 2 sided tape. Then put a thin strip of foam tape just the size of the metal conductors and works like a charm.

Would love to see a photo of the above. I haven't covered mine yet - I applied the membrane a bit in from the edge underneath. Goal was to be able to choke crash cymbals using aftertouch which is working well with the MegaDrum. Had to get help from Ignotus to get that working.

Tell me how to post a pic and I will. I have my membranes on top btw.

The Field 3-zone ride is essentially two cymbals in one. A dual zone bow/edge on jack one and a single zone bell on jack two. I just methodically went through the setup process. I unplugged both jacks, reset both inputs using the controller and then, as the manual suggests, I selected the Dual zone cymbal input in the controller software before plugging in the cymbal. Doing it this way things seems to work themselves out.

Unfortunately I can’t remember exactly what I did to get the incompatibility warnings. I’ll see if I can recreate it.

As for Myrk... can’t wait to try it out. I’m still waiting for some parts to put it all together. Since it is a hi-hat I’m just trying to get edge and bow out of it. I don’t care about choking it so I’m hoping wiring it will be easy enough.

Thanks mylo. Rob told me the error was a capacitance issue and the controller was treating the switch like a piezo to protect the circuitry. So I was getting all sorts of odd bow and edge triggering. Said it could be the cord or bug. I did what you suggested. That got rid of the error and now my bow is working fine without any false edge hits like before. But now the edge switch isn’t functioning.

I've made some adjustments to the compatability check in build 3. See if that resolves your issues. If you are still seeing that 'compatibility' warning, watch the led on the back of the unit as you plug in the pad and tell me how many times it flashes (should be in the 10-45) range.
