Suggestion for velocity control improvement.

I’ve tried the edrumin on cymbals so far and while I really like it I’ve noticed something that can be improved.

The velocity control lets you control the velocity curve by freehand. This is great to have the freedom to adjust as you want but you have to do it by ear. Much better to do it mathematically.

I’m not sure how you map the piezo signal to velocity but the voltage is not linear to velocity as you know. It’s a logarithmic response.

I suggest adding another function to the velocity curve.

Have a logarithmic response curve option that is mathematically generated and then you can adjust the log ”steepness” with a knob.

I made my own ”digital” drum that does this internally and I set it to the correct steepness with a sort of scientific method.

I can vouch that the velocity response of a piezo signal is perfectly logarithmic and if you set the steepness right you can get a perfect match of the input to the output.

I think this would improve the edrumin immensely.
