using eDrumin10 with module & no VST

I just got my eDrumin10 2nd hand off eBay and downloaded the software application and manual. I did not download a VST yet although I'm planning to get EZ Drummer3. I'm using A2E se up with my old Simmons Titan module and I added some extra Lemon cymbals. I connected the eDrumin to my laptop and used the host port to connect the Titan 50 module to the eDrumin. I plugged the Lemon cymbals in trying to use the 2 input Lemon preset but only the edge made sound even though the bow and bell show gain activity on the eDrumin software. I think this is because I wasn't using a VST and the Titan 50 doesn't have 3 zone cymbal sounds. Does that seem correct?

That got me thinking...is there a way to use trigger inputs from both the module and the eDrumin and use DIFFERENT sounds from the module for the triggers connected to the eDrumin? Maybe the note change settings? I was basically getting the same cymbal sounds for the cymbals connected to eDrumin as for the cymbals on the Titan 50 and couldn't figure out if they can be changed? I know this might seem dumb not to use the VST but I was thinking about if I did gig somewhere and didn't want to take a laptop. If I got a better module (Roland td-17 or td-27) that have 3-zone cymbal sounds would that make a difference?

I am not familiar with your module.

With the Yamaha modules, you can trigger any sound that is included in the module by, you guessed it, changing the midi note for the eDRUMin pad zone you want to sound to play.

You will need a module with midi in.

Roland do NOT allow this function anymore. They will only play what is already set up as a kit, so you only get to double a sound that is already part of the kit, so, if you want to add a clap, you need to assign the clap to a pad, then double it via the eDRUMin pad plugged in. Doesn't make sense to me, but I guess Roland wants users to buy a second module, instead of using just one.

You might be right or perhaps you just don't have the notes setup correctly. I'm sure the Titan manual could shed some light on this.
