there's an advantage if you want to play cross sticks without crosstalk from a bt-1 on an analogue pad (which I could never get rid of), with the digital snare putting your hand on the head and playing the cross stick it will ALWAYS trigger it no matter what, no head sounds, no rimshot sounds.
Great point. I wasn't thinking about cross stick. I have the BT-1, and that works well for me, but I'd do think I'd prefer a touch-sensitive function a la the Roland 140DS or the DW pressure-sensitive FSR approach, so I wouldn't need to change my playing technique to produce the cross stick sound. Having said that, watching the DWe FSR approach in videos, and hearing feedback from users, it's not 100% fool-proof in that, of course, threshold pressure needs to be consistently applied for the sound to be achieved. It appears the Roland DS approach may have reliability issues. All said, the BT-1 is as reliable as it gets.lalo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 8:51 amthere's an advantage if you want to play cross sticks without crosstalk from a bt-1 on an analogue pad (which I could never get rid of), with the digital snare putting your hand on the head and playing the cross stick it will ALWAYS trigger it no matter what, no head sounds, no rimshot sounds.
