Hi All. I'm trying to assign different channels to all inputs for each bank (ie. bank 1 is channel 10, bank 2 is channel 11, etc, for all inputs). This is working very well on everything but my hihat pedal. For that it is glitchy and the channel settings are not always sticky and seem to randomly move between banks. In fact I can click on the same bank number twice and see the channel number change.
I'm using an ED10R2 with firmware version "2.2.8.15" as reported in the macOS app (although the forum post with the download and pkg file itself both say "2.2.0.15").
Note: the pedal is working fine in bank 1 (channel 10 - what I've been using for a long time), I'm just having troubles getting the banks 2, 3 and 4 channel values to stick.
Any help would be appreciated. I can create a movie of the glitchiness if it helps.
Thanks,
Joe

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
Thanks for the detailed description of the problem. The hihat bank is supposed to be synchronized with the selected bank of the your hihat cymbal. I don't use banks, so I haven't tested in a long time. I'll try to find some time to test next week.

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
Thanks in advance for looking, Rob. One more bit of info that I can provide: the hi-hat cymbal notes come across with the correct bank-specific channel, but the pedal CC openness and pedal/splash notes seem to be pegged to the bank 1 channel (10) regardless of the current bank selection.
And FYI - I'm using "Hihat CC mode" as the output mode with "CC with hit" OFF for my pedal (Sense On and Auto Polarity Detect).

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
I can confirm the issue. The way it's working right now is that the hihat cymbal is using the channel specified by its own selected bank, and not the one specified by the selected bank of the hihat pedal.
I guess it should be using the hihat's bank setting, and the UI should just hide the channel setting for hihat cymbals. Or keep things as they are now, and make the UI shown the selected bank for the inputs controlled by the hihat. Not sure which is better.
Adding to the confusion, I also found a bug introduced in version 2.2 that causes the displayed channel for the selected bank to show the wrong value. A workaround to get it to show the correct value is the click the bank twice.

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
I think I'm going to keep it the way it is, but I'll make it so the banks are visible for inputs that are set to 'Hihat Cymbal'.

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
Thanks for looking, Rob. Just to be clear - you are saying the pedal CC note channel should follow whatever the hihat cymbal channel is set to in the currently selected bank? Asking because I'm not seeing that. I can select the pedal bank manually and that seems to work (the double-click trick for pedal banks seems to be reliable). But when I change all banks with a foot switch set to "Input: ALL", the pedal bank does not change and the channel of the pedal CC note is pegged at whatever bank is highlighted for the pedal.
Appreciate the help!

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
I'm not entirely sure what I'm saying. I guess this wasn't thought through enough in the first place.
I think the most logical and consistent approach would be for the hihat cymbal to use the channel / bank of the hihat pedal, so that all the hihat related MIDI is using the same channel, and so there's no need to update two settings.
And when a pedal is used to change note banks, the hihat bank should change as well.
I need more time to think it through.

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
So I looked into this some more and found a few issues in the firmware. They're fixed for version 2.3

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
Thanks Rob. I just upgraded to 2.3.0.1 (which had another issue I ran into last week fixed - thanks!) and tried out the hi-hat pedal bank switching, and it still seems to work same as before.
I can watch the bank icons on all of the trigger inputs change when I hit the bank change foot switch, but the hi-hat pedal does not change banks. And when I trace the midi events, I can see that any NoteOn/Off picks up the correct bank-specific channel (including pedal stepping), but the pedal ControlChange events do not - they are pegged at the bank 1 channel. This decouples the Hihat CC mode from the Hihat notes, and in my case gets caught up in some midi channel filtering I have set up for kit routing.
Any chance the CC events did not get addressed in the bank fixes you made for 2.3?
Apologies for being such a nuisance with this issue. I'm trying to allow for rapid kit switching without touching the keyboard.

Re: Hi-Hat pedal bank-specific channel not working
There were several issues I worked through. I'll take another look today and hopefully we have everything resolved for the next build.
