Yes you can. This is exactly what I did before the ED10 arrived. Rob recommended that I not update the firmware over the hub. I’m not sure if that is still the recommendation.

The firmware update is just a heads up. It is definitely not a show stopper for a USB hub. When you update the firmware the suggestion was to plug directly into the computer. Once the update is done plug it back into the hub and play on.

Do you know if the rotm black hole triggers will work on the edrummin?

OT. Please open another discussion for this. Also, as the manual states, pretty much all triggers are compatible. Just fiddle with the settings in the app. I'd keep this to the point of the discussion. Any other users here who use multiple edrumin4s and are willing to share their experience?

Can you explain how I set them up together??

Will I need an interface with multiple xlr outputs to hook 3 or 4 up to my PC?

No XLR needed here. You need a USB hub of good quality (maybe better if powered?) and that's it. So 4 Edrumins plugged into the hub and the hub plugged into your computer.
