I have an edrumin 4 connected to a DTX Multi 12 right now. Itβs a very nice combination and allows me to connect an external snare and two cymbals. Positional sensing on the snare and three zones on the cymbals while triggering my own samples. The edrumin unit is even powered by DTX Multi 12 through usb
The quote above is from another thread. rather than hi-jacking that ...
@rockdude - can you explain your set up further. what pads do you plug into what unit, how do you connect the eDRUMin to your dtx12, etc
thanks

I'll venture a guess. Power the ED4 by connecting its USB cable into the DTX12 USBA port. Then use a MIDI cable from the ED4 MIDI port to the MIDI in on the DTX12.

Rob is correct regarding the usb and midi connections!
I have a Roland PDX-100 as a snare and two Yamaha PXY-100 as hihat cymbal and ride cymbal connected to eDRUMin. A Yamaha HH65 pedal is also connected to the pedal input of eDRUMin.
It's a very compact and great responding setup. I also have a full size A2E-kit, but needed something portabel that I can move from my home to my rehearsal place, small gigs and for quick creative recording and song writing at friends places.

thanks both
very nice set up
i have something very close, with the same pedals but i have a yamaha tp100 for the snare. i have two ride bows, one bell, two crashes, and hi-hat bow and edge assigned to pads on the dtx and have enough left for the other voices i want, so just having the external snare and pedals works for me.
with your approach, i could swap the tp100 for a mesh snare to get PS as you've pointed out.
i'm thinking also that if i went through the eDRUMin i could possibly use the roland fd9 hi hat pedal which is nicer than the hh65, but i'd have to give that more thought and proper investigation if i care enough.
but what I'm more interested in is getting rid of machine-gunning using the dtx12 as a module, which I guess is what you're driving at with your earlier request re velocities in the eDRUMin.
i have questions, but i've just opened a thread on the v-drums forum and i'm still thinking this through so i'll leave the dtx12 questions over there and come back here later if I've got eDRUMin questions to pursue.
thanks again for sharing the info.
