Hi,
I just wrote a message to technical support but I thought I would ask here in the forum as well if anyone is having this problem.
I downloaded the latest version of the Windows App (2.0.2.2 - 2022-09-01) and after installing it, it won't start. It briftly shows on Task Manager but then it exits without any message.
I am running Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (v. 10.0.19044) on a motherboard ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI) with an i9-9900K with 64GB of RAM and 9TB SSD.
Anyone having the same issue?
EDIT: It may sound funny but after clicking on the App icon repeatedly and constantly - and at high speed, around 4 times per second - the App eventually opens! This is trully weird. But this IS a work around for now, if anyone else is having this issue.
EDIT 2: The problem IS NOT the eDRUMin App. Later on this thread I explain that I found the problem to be with a bank security software called Warsaw. So, eDRUMin App runs just fine when this Warsaw software is not running.

I got your tech support request. I'm glad you found a workaround. I can only guess that's it's crashing, but hard to say why. Does it open properly if no eDRUMin devices are connected?

Thanks a lot, Rob.
Sadly, my work around is not working around all the time. I am trying to find out what makes it work when it does.
Also, removing the eDUMin doesn't help. I noticed that, when I can see it showing very, very briefly on Task Manager, the status column shows "Suspended" and then it just vanishes from the Task Manager. I agree it is crashing indeed.

Do you have an overly aggressive virus scanner running?

It have Norton 360 Premium. I don't know if it is aggressive. But I tried disabling it and running the App but it didn't help.

I avoid Norton AV whenever possible. Even when it's disabled it still can cause problems. Only completely uninstalling it solves issues. Windows built in Defender is sufficient security for a music computer

I found the problem!
Your App, as well as some other Audio Apps, must use some kind of API to address the display that appear as a threat to a widely used bank security software called Warsaw. In Brazil, many banks require that this Warsaw software be installed before one can access their online banking services. I had a similar problem with Studio One 5, as reported here:
https://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/a ... al-Control
When I uninstall Warsaw, eDRUMin App runs just fine. But unfortunatelly I then can't do online banking(!). So, I have to go back and forth on the installing/uninstalling to be able to work.
For Studio One the solution was to uninstall Warsaw then install it again while keeping Studio One untouched. However, I tried many of these install/uninstall sequences with Warsaw and eDRUMin App to no avail. I was preparing a step by step solution but I didn't find any yet. At least now we know what the problem is.
Quick question for @Rob: In the API for the graphic user interface are there security options that could be checked? Or perhaps in the compiler? It would look like the Warsaw software would think that this type of GUI API could include screen capture capability that could be a threat. If there is such an option that could be disabled, it could solve the problem. That would be my first guess on where to look for in finding a solution.

I have no idea why Warsaw would be causing problems with the eDRUMin app. Does it provide any log file that would describe the 'threat' it has detected?

Hi Rob,
I've got some close Brazilian friends here in the US. I support their tech and I've been dealing with Warsaw weirdness for years. It totally makes sense that was the issue.

This is the website of the manufacturer of Warsaw:
https://www.dieboldnixdorf.com/en-us/
I just found an installation log. I cannot find a runtime log.
Indeed, eDRUMin app would never present itself as a threat whatsoever for a banking system! This Warsaw security software is just too sensitive.
If you can say, what type of language/compiler do you use? Is it the same Presonus uses for their Studio One DAW? I still didn't find a solution. But I will keep trying.
